Community HubCome and support the ‘Sparrow Store & Community Café’. This local resource is based in the old St. George’s Church, Waresley Crescent, Sparrowhall, L9 6BW. All profits go back into running services and activities for the local community. 
The store is open Tuesday to Friday 10.00 am to 3.00 pm

17 February: The Global Catholic Movement invites you to “Global Healing.”
In 2015, Pope Francis published his ground-breaking letter on the environment Laudato Si’. Since then, millions of people worldwide have joined the global movement to address the environmental crisis our world is facing. This Lent, you are invited to join a series of reflective evenings with inspiring speakers, prayer and discussion, using the film-based resource “Global Healing”. These engaging documentaries will inform and challenge people to respond to Pope Francis’ call to Care for Our Common Home. Suitable for all who are concerned about what is happening to our world and who want to take action.

17 February: The National Novena to St Joseph
The National Novena to St Joseph will take place from 10th – 18th March at St Joseph’s Church in Maidenhead.  In this Year dedicated to St. Joseph, the Mill Hill Missionaries are preparing for the Feast of St Joseph, their patron, with a special Novena of Masses and prayers to ask for God’s blessing on their Society’s missionary outreach, and for the intentions of all those who support their work.
Masses are on Wednesday to Friday (10 – 12 March), at 7.30 pm, Saturday, 13 March at 10 am, Sunday, 14 March at 11.00 am, Monday to Thursday (15 – 18 March) at 7.30 pm. If you would like to join in from home, for the first time this year, Masses from St. Joseph’s Church will be available to follow on Zoom and YouTube via the parish website: stjosephsparish.co.uk and the Mill Hill website: www.millhillmissionaries.com/novena, where you will also find the Novena prayer leaflet.

Right to Life UK is asking Catholics to pray for the unborn and women facing crisis pregnancies. The prayer for this week is:
‘As we begin this season of Lent, we offer up the merits of our daily sacrifices to the needs of the most vulnerable in society. We offer them especially for the poor, the lonely and the unborn. That the Lord would see their needs and pour out his love and blessing upon them. Lord hear us’.

12 February: Right to Life
Lord Alton is championing an amendment to the Trade Bill which would give British courts a role in determining whether a country is committing genocide. Right to Life UK is asking Catholics to ask their MP to support this amendment. 11 February: In conversation through hurting, healing and hope
‘Listening with Love’ is a seven-session resource inviting people to reflect on the impact of abuse on individuals and the Church. The material is designed for use in small groups, with a leader and participants. The survivors who generously offered their time to produce this resource, identified the themes and decided that, in conversations, the voice of the survivor could be heard. 3 February: Care for the Family – ‘The Mum show’
Care for the Family, a charity who provide excellent support for families has prepared a new online event ‘The Mum Show’. This is a twelve-part series on being a mum in today’s world … whatever that may look like.
Each 30 minute episode will feature honest conversations, moments of soul-searching, expert advice and even the occasional light-hearted digression.
The first episode, ‘Parenting in a Pandemic’, is released on 8th February, after which you’ll have access to the rest of the series.

3 February: Feast of Our Lady of Lourdes
This year, the Archdiocese of Liverpool Feast of Our Lady of Lourdes Mass will be celebrated online only. Please do not attend in person. It will be held remotely and broadcast on Thursday 11 February at 7pm from Our Lady’s, Lydiate. The Celebrant will be Fr Des Seddon.
