The preparation meetings for First Communion in 2024 commence on the following dates:
The preparation meetings for First Communion in 2024 commence on the following dates:
St Philomena: Tuesday 7 November
Holy Name: Thursday 9 November
Holy Name: Thursday 9 November
Meetings take place in church from 3.30 pm to 4 pm. Children and parents/carers may attend either session, this does not determine where First Communion will be celebrated.
Registration and dates for future meetings will be advised at the first meeting.

26 October: Family of parishes roadshows
The Pastoral Plan makes clear the way forward for the church in our archdiocese. It says, ‘Developing the models of pastoral collaboration that we already have we will create families of parishes.’

In the future, we will work as Families of Parishes. To explore what this means, there are 3 roadshows planned. These are open meetings for anyone and everyone to come. They will take place on:
Saturday 4th November from 10.00 am to 12 noon at St Margaret Clitherow Centre
Tuesday 7th November 7.00 pm to 9.00 pm at St Anne’s Pastoral Centre in Ormskirk
Wednesday 8th November 7.00 pm to 9.00 pm at St Julie’s Eccleston, St Helens

Prayer is about our relationship with the God who loves us unconditionally. We are all on the journey of deepening our relationship with the God of love and, from time to time, we all need a helping hand to guide us on the way.
The journey into prayer course aims to give a taste of a variety of ways of praying, not just by talking about them but by giving us space to experience them.
The 12-week course starts 16 January and costs £160 per person. Held at The Cenacle, Lance Lane, L15 6TW. Closing date for applications is 1 December.

All donations go to support churches, hospitals, schools and vocations in countries where the Church is new, young or poor. To gift aid your donation, please use the envelopes provided by Missio available in church.
